I survived the great white sharks but am having a bit of trouble getting to grips with being back at a desk
After a two week trip to Adelaide, Melbourne and Darwin, via South Australia’s Neptune Islands to see the great white sharks and a couple of days bush bashing around the Northern Territory’s Katherine Gorge, I’ve been finding it pretty hard to get my head around being back at a desk when I arrived back in Bangkok on Tuesday. The first couple of days I put down to tiredness, but even by Thursday I was still feeling restless and unable to focus on writing up stuff. This is the problem with travelling – once you get going, it’s hard to stop. I’ve got a ton of stuff I want to write up here on Travelhappy but for now I’m going to publish a couple of pieces I’ve previously written about life in Bangkok, beginning with my account of my first ever day of backpacking solo when I arrived in Bangkok. If you’re scared of going travelling on your own, read this – you cannot possibly be any more scared than I was. I am happy to make a fool of myself if it provides inspiration for anyone else to go travelling
