If you’re travelling solo, the airport bus from Suvarnabhumi airport is a lot cheaper – and slower – than getting your own cab. Here are the routes the Bangkok airport bus takes.
The Bangkok airport bus has four different routes. The fare on each route is 150 Thai Baht. If there are two or more of you, it’s just as economical to get a taxi instead, as that will cost you around 350 Baht between you and be a lot quicker. (See Price of a taxi from Bangkok Airport to Khao San Road for more info).
The bus departure point is directly outside the terminal as you come into the Arrivals area of Bangkok airport.
Here are the four routes the bus takes:
Route AE-1: Bangkok Airport to Silom Road. You can connect to the Skytrain or subway from Silom.
Route AE-2: Bangkok Airport to Banglamphu. This is the one to get on for Khao San road. It stops directly outside the Khao San Sawadee hotel. Follow the link for info on the hotel and a map at the bottom of the page showing its location near Khao San Road itself.
Route AE-3: Bangkok Airport to Nana area of Sukhumvit (Sukhumvit Sois 3 and 4)
Route AE-4: Bangkok Airport to Hua Lumphong, Bangkok’s central railway station.
