AirAsia are currently offering flights from Kuala Lumpur to London for silly prices – and even with a connecting flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok, their price is much lower than other carriers
AirAsia currently has a sale – which ends on 15 February, sorry I didn’t post this earlier – for flights between Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur and London Stanstead that are priced at 1472 Malaysian Ringgit for a return flight in November
That’s around 320 British pounds – a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok would be around another 363 Rinngit which is 65 pounds or so
A search on flight comparison engines Compare Flight Prices and Wego.com show the cheapest flight on other carriers currently somewhere around 650 Pounds for London to Bangkok – ouch!
The flights are on AirAsia‘s new longhaul spinoff, cunningly named AirAsiaX. The first longhaul flights to London have yet to happen – they begin in March. I will be holding off buying a ticket until I hear reports from passengers on how it works out.
I think the other important thing to remember is that if you want food and entertainment on the flight you need to factor in another 70 Malaysian Ringgit to the price – all these extras could add up, along with the discomfort of the flight, into a false economy. But we’ll have to see.
