The Plain Of Jars in Laos is shrouded in mystery – no one knows for sure how old these ancient, giant stone jars are or why there are so many of them scattered across the countryside

A couple of years ago I wrote a travel article about The Plain Of Jars in Laos. The article’s been read quite a lot since then and mentioned on Wikipedia and Metafilter, but for some reason (ok, pure laziness) I never made available the photos that I took when I visited the Plain of Jars, which is one of South East Asia’s most enigmatic tourist attractions. So, finally, here they are. This is the complete set of thumbnails to my collection of Plain of Jars pix, and I’ve added captions to a few of the full size pix to explain them, but reading the original article will help it make more sense.
