Cebu Pacific are a major budget airline based in the Philippines who offer cheap flights from Manila to Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei and Jakarta

Another airline to add to the Budget Flights in South East Asia list is Cebu Pacific, based in the Philippines. Cebu offer lots of domestic flights across the Philippines themselves – and with seven thousand islands, it’s a vital service – and also has an expanding international presence. Cebu Pacific now has flights from Manila to Bangkok, as well as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei and Jakarta.

Bangkok to Manila fares are start at around 2500 Thai Baht one way, plus around another 750 for tax. If you picked the right dates you could get a return flight from Bangkok to Manila for around 6500 – 7000 Baht including taxes, which is about £100. You can look at different Cebu Pacific fares on flight aggregator Compare Flight Prices and also compare how this works against other airlines. My experience is that Cebu Pacific fares are on average about a quarter of other airline fares – amazingly cheap!

Their website is pretty slick and allows for easy online booking. I am flying with Cebu Pacific for the first time this weekend so I’ll report back if there’s anything particularly good or bad about their service. I have heard that their punctuality can be pretty bad, but that tends to be the case for a lot of budget carriers.
