Every Friday, a new photo of amazing Asian people and places here on Travelhappy. This week - a 1960s testament to Hong Kong's inventive ingenuity
While in the superb Hong Kong History Museum a while ago, I spotted this:

It may seem very dull at first glance - an nondescript example of the cheap, mass produced goods that Hong Kong used to excel at. Even the caption next to it gives nothing away about this flashlight's special properties.
But take a closer look at the packaging and you'll see this is no ordinary flashlight:

It's a combination flashlight and cigarette lighter! You can light up and light up simultaneously! You've got the cigarette as a backup if the batteries fail! GENIUS! Just look at the satisfaction on the face of the gentleman who uses one of these things!
From scrutinising the top photo of the actual torch a bit more, there appears to be a red switch at the top to switch the torch on and off and a separate, much bigger, silver switch for igniting the cigarette lighter.
So I have to ask - has anyone actually seen one of these working?
