With the world’s currencies in either dramatic decline (hello British Sterling and Australian Dollar) or making rapid gains (lucky you, US Dollar and Japanese Yen), it pays to keep checking what your money’s worth with a currency converter.
Despite the ongoing political turmoil within Thailand, the Thai Baht has remained remarkably strong, and visitors to Thailand need to be aware that their cash may not go quite as far as they first thought. (See How Much Money Do I Need For Thailand to get an idea of prices of everyday things).
As such, I’ve just added a Thai Baht Currency Converter to Travelhappy – it’s a widget from Currency.com and gets its data continually updated from Reuters, so it’s a good indicator of the general currency rates. (Note that specific banks’ rates can vary from Reuters’ rates).
You can use the Currency Converter to convert scores of currencies from one to the other, not just Thai Baht.
For an idea of what everyday items cost in other South East Asian countries you might visit from Thailand, see How Much Money Do I Need In Vietnam ; Cambodia ; and Laos.
