Bangkok on $7.50 a day, planning a month trip to Thailand and revisiting a Japanese apartment - some more great travel links about Asia that I've recently found
Just back from my trip to Palau with a few days in Davao in the southern Philippines and Hong Kong on either side - needless to say, it was a blast, even after a quick bout of food poisoning in Davao - boo! Scuba diving when you feel in need of an adult diaper is not to be recommended - probably too much information, that...
Thanks to everyone that left comments and sent emails while I was away - am busy attending to them so here are some great links I've spotted in the meantime:
Stuart at Travelfish wrote a fascinating riposte to my Bangkok on 30 Dollars A Day with his Bangkok on $7.50 A Day, which gives a breakdown of just how frugal you can be if you've got the time and willpower
Next Exit To Adventure is a very good new blog about planning a month long trip to Thailand in December this year, with all the excitement and apprehension that goes along with it. It's another "pre travel" blog that will hopefully continue when the author arrives in Thailand. I'm not sure who's writing it but it's worth checking out.
Garrett Albright wrote an excellent followup to my A Very Short Walk Around A Tokyo Apartment with a photo essay about his own, equally tiny apartment in Nagoya. - definitely worth checking out to compare the two and read Garrett's own experiences of living in Japan.

Hi,
I just wanted to drop you a quick mail as I think you may be interested in my new post that outlines the different buffet’s dinners on offer from the 5 star hotels in Bangkok. The list includes the address of the hotels, contact number, closest BTS, cuisine, opening times and the costs.
Feel free to check it out: http://www.absorbingtheworld.co.uk/blog/buffet-info-at-bangkoks-5-hotels.html
Cheers,
Chris
Some of the food in the Philippines doesn’t agree with me either but they know how to provide good quality hotels over there.
