Songkran is Thailand’s biggest holiday where the entire country has a 3 day long water fight and parties like crazy to beat the heat as temperatures soar to 35 degrees plus

Songkran Festival is coming soon! This year the Festival will fall on Sunday 13th to Tuesday 15th April which will be a public holiday throughout the country. During that time all hell will break loose as the Thais take to the streets en masse for one enormous water fight to celebrate the coming of the rainy season – and also to cool off. I’ve written about Songkran previously – this time round I’ve found some great pix on Flickr which gives an idea of what the water battles are like. No one is safe!
