Experion is a classy site that gathers together classic travel books in their entirety for you to peruse.
They are pretty much all older, out-of-copyright titles, (see Michael Palin if you want more up to date free travel books), but if you’re interested in travel history these texts are a must.
Besides Travelhappy, I also run another little site called Free-New-Books.com where I blog about – guess what? – free new books I’ve found on the Web for people to (legitimately) download. There’s a couple of other travel-related ones there – Angkor Wat: The Definitive Guide and Asia Grace.
