Some interesting Asia related travel links that have recently caught my eye
Steve at Our Man In Granada and a previous guest blogger on Travelhappy recently won Newsweek's Budget Travel Online's blog competition and has been guest posting over there for a week. Check out his first post, From Vietnam's KOTO to Nicaragua's CafeChavalos and his longer piece for Travelhappy, The Road Less Travelled: From Vietnam to Nicaragua.
Travelfish have recently published the feature story A Short Break in Nha Trang which gives a good rundown of things to do and see in Vietnam's premier seaside town. It's a good update to my own piece on Nha Trang which I wrote a couple of years ago - doesn't sound as if much has changed.
BoingBoing highlighted the AsiAddict blog which has some quirky stuff on Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, including author Mats!? (his spelling) own cartoon book about his recent travels in the region. The bootleg Thai Tintin book was particularly amusing (if very, very rude). See also my previous post on bootleg books in Cambodia and Vietnam.
Kiva.org lets you lend money direct to individuals in developing countries - it can be just a few dollars and the repayment rate is over 99 per cent, so you're very likely to get it back. I love this sort of direct action and connection between people. If anyone has used this website, please let me know your thoughts, good or bad, about the process.
Further to my new found fondness for Thai wine, I've subsequently discovered this nice website for Khao Yai winery

Lots of good stuff on Jaunted.com - 5 Mistakes Tourists Make In Phnom Penh particularly caught my eye. Pithy and well-informed. Nice.
