If you’re interested in testing out Travelfish’s new iPhone travel apps but don’t want to spend any money to have a go, you can now get free lite versions of several of their apps
I’ve written previously about Travelfish’s excellent iPhone travel apps – these are elegantly designed and info-packed apps that replace the need for a guidebook, whilst giving you some very nifty interactive maps that can even tell you where you are located using the iPhone’s GPS functionality.
Travelfish are pumping out these apps quite rapidly – at the moment there are apps for Luang Prabang, Angkor Wat, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and Koh Samet with a lot more on the way. While the apps are all very reasonably priced, Travelfish recognise that some people might want to have a play with the apps before they make a commitment to purchase – travel apps are a pretty new thing, after all. So there are now 3 FREE Travelfish travel apps – lite versions of the full app so you can get a feel of what they’re like to use.
It’ll be interesting to see how this area for travel guides continues to shape up over the next 18 months – Travelfish have certainly set the bar very high for what a travel app should do, and it will be interesting to see if they inspire any serious rivals in this area besides Lonely Planet.
