Just two hours from Bangkok, Pattaya is bright, brash, and a little sleazy. However, this popular beach resort is changing fast, and a batch of new developments are bringing in families and luxury travellers.

About Pattaya
Pattaya made its name as a somewhat sleazy tourist destination, thanks largely to its proximity to Bangkok. It remains one of the Thailand’s most popular beach resorts but recent years have seen the area change into a family-friendly place to be, with a number of new luxury developments.
There are a few iconic attractions here and some reasonable beaches, as well as remnants of the nightlife many still associate with Pattaya. But you’ll also find it a great place for activities like golf, go-kart racing, and snorkelling or diving.
See our Pattaya Quick Guide for details.

The more notorious side of the the resort is still alive and well in the cabarets, such as Tiffany’s Show and Alcazar. See our Pattaya Quick Guide for details of things to do.
