There are several ferry companies running daily ferries to and from Koh Samui. The Lomprayah catamaran is the fastest of the ferry companies.

The Lomprayah catamaran is the fastest ferry to Koh Samui, around 2.5 hours from Surat Thani’s Tapee Pier to Koh Samui. Tapee Pier is much nearer to Surat Thani town than Donsak Pier, which is where the other ferry companies depart.
Rather than making your own way to Tapee Pier, it’s probably easier to buy a Lomprayah ticket where you are picked up from Surat Thani train station and travel by bus to Tapee pier, and then board the ferry. Check availability and prices.
