They come from Los Angeles, but Dengue Fever are bringing a whole new twist to Cambodian pop music and fusing it with a mess of other influences to create a new Khmer sound
Great article in the New York Times recently about the LA band Dengue Fever, who are 5 American alt-rockers fronted by Cambodian chanteuse Chhom Nimol. They mix Cambodian language lyrics with Khmer pop, psychedelic rock and god knows what else. I'd definitely like to see the documentary "Sleepwalking Through The Mekong" that they made about going on tour in Cambodia in 2005. You can hear lots of Dengue Fever's tunes at Last.fm, buy MP3s at Amazon.com and also get more music from their MySpace page.

I’ve heard that the place to go for asian pop music is imeem.com, since it’s basicly youtube for mp3s and they have a large non-american audience they have a mad amount of tracks which you’ll never see in the western world
