The new Bangkok Airport may have been open for five months, but the Airports of Thailand website still hasn’t updated to show the revised real time flight information. Luckily there’s another solution
If you’re looking to find out if a plane has arrived at Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok’s new airport, there’s not much point looking on the official Airports of Thailand website – they’re still showing information for the old Don Muang website.
However, you can still get accurate information about flight arrivals and departures at Bangkok’s new airport by using the FlightStats.com Flight Status box below. There are three tabs on the top. Select the third one: “By Airport”. Type in the airport code “BKK” (without the quotation marks) selecting the appropriate field for arrivals info or departures info. Select a departure date as well if required and hit “Go”. You’ll get the latest info on the following screen.
I find real time flight information extremely handy for when I have friends arriving in Bangkok to visit – I can check if their flight is delayed and avoid going to the airport any sooner than I need to.
